CITIZEN BUSES

Community buses supplement local public transport in many municipalities and ensure that you remain mobile even in smaller towns. They operate in places where large public buses often cannot be used economically - and thus close important gaps in the transport service.

What makes them special: Community buses are operated by dedicated volunteers. They take care of the organisation, driving and service - with a great deal of commitment to their region.

What is a community bus?

A community bus is a smaller vehicle that runs on selected routes according to a fixed timetable. It connects places that are otherwise only connected to public transport to a limited extent or not at all.

Citizen buses:

  • complement existing bus routes

  • create connections within communities

  • make it possible to go shopping, to the doctor or to the railway station
